"When could I have it?" is one of the first questions when ordering a website. The honest answer to how long it takes to build a website has two parts: the work itself and the time it takes to gather what the work needs. The second is almost always what stretches timelines.
How long to build a website: indicative timelines
- One-page website: about a week of work.
- Multi-page website (up to 5): about two weeks.
- Website with online booking or custom features: depends on what needs configuring; the timeline is in the quote.
- Large projects (online shop, several languages, integrations): weeks to months.
So how long does it take to build a website at Nueva Página? Seven days for a one-page website and 14 for one with up to 5 pages, counting from when I have your texts and photos. Working remotely makes no difference to these timelines.

- Proposal and fixed quote, with a timeline.
- Content: texts, photos, logo, details.
- Design and build.
- Review: you see the website and ask for changes.

What makes a website take longer to build
The text
The number one delay. "I'll send it next week" becomes a month. If writing is hard for you, ask for help or start with a draft of the structure; ideas in using AI to write website copy.
The photos
Waiting for the perfect shoot. Sometimes it is better to launch with good phone photos and swap them later. Tips in photos for your website.
Open decisions
Not being sure which services to highlight, which prices to publish or which name to use. Besides, every open question holds up everything that depends on it.
Too many people giving opinions
When five people have to approve every detail, timelines multiply. Better one person who decides.
Missing access

How to build a website faster
- Prepare a list of services with one sentence each.
- Gather 8–15 photos even if they are not perfect.
- Have your details to hand: hours, address, phone, social media.
- Look at two or three websites you like and say why.
- Appoint one person to sign off.
How long a website takes to bring results
How long it takes to build a website is one thing; how long it takes to bring you clients is another. On launch day, the website already works: you can link to it from your Business Profile, your social media and your business cards. Google, on the other hand, needs time to get to know it.
Google's own SEO starter guide warns that changes can take anywhere from a few hours to several months to show. So it pays to register the website in Search Console from day one and be patient. Can you build a website in 48 hours?
A very simple page, with content ready, can be done quickly. But rushing usually shows in the result.
What if I want changes after delivery?
There is usually a review stage before launch. Later changes are quoted separately.
Do I have to wait until I have everything to start?
Not necessarily: design can progress with the structure and the text can come later, but the delivery date counts from when everything is in.
