What to prepare before ordering your website so it is done fast and well
Before ordering a website, get your copy, photos and a few decisions ready. What to prepare so it is done fast and well, and what you do not need.

A website's timeline is rarely stretched by design or development. It gets stretched because the copy is missing, the photos are on the phone of someone who does not reply, or nobody has decided whether to show prices. If you arrive with a few things clear when ordering a website, you get it sooner and better.
Before ordering a website: know what you want to happen
First of all, think about what you want visitors to do:
- Call you or message you on WhatsApp?
- Book an appointment directly?
- See your work and ask for a quote?
Everything else is organised around that. It is the first question I will ask.
What you know about your business
You do not need to write perfect copy. I just need you to tell me, the way you would tell a customer:
- What you do and for whom.
- What sets you apart: why customers choose you.
- Your main services, and which you most want to sell.
- What people always ask you. Those become the website's FAQs.
- Prices, if you will show them, even as "from". Why it is worth it: should you show prices on your website.
From that, the copy is organised around the words your customers search with, so Google and AI assistants can find you.
Photos
Real photos sell far better than stock images:
- Your premises, inside and out.
- You and your team, at work.
- Your work: dishes, haircuts, renovations, sessions.
They do not need to be professional, but they should be well lit and in focus. Send them as they are, uncropped and uncompressed: optimising them is my job. More ideas in photos for your website.
Logo and colours
If you have a logo, send the best format you have (the original file rather than a screenshot). Brand colours too, if you have them. If you have nothing, you can start with your name well set in type; see colours and fonts.
The domain
You register the domain (yourbusiness.com or your country's ending) yourself, so it stays in your name. It takes five minutes and I will tell you how. It costs around €10–15 a year and is the only recurring cost. If you do not have one yet, see how to choose a domain.
Contact details and hours
- Phone, WhatsApp, email and address, exactly as they appear on your Google Business Profile.
- Opening hours, including summer or holiday changes.
- Links to your social media.
Websites you like, to show when ordering yours
Two or three websites you like, from your sector or any other, and what you like about each. It helps a lot to get the style right first time.
What you do not need for ordering a website
- Technical knowledge. The technical side (publishing the website, connecting it to your domain and registering it with Google) is on me, explained without jargon.
- Everything perfect. You start with the essentials; the rest gets filled in.
How I do it
At Nueva Página we start with a conversation on WhatsApp, email or video call, and within 24 hours I send you a fixed price in writing. A one-page website is ready in 7 days and a full one in 14, counting from when I have your copy and photos. Step by step in how I work.
What ordering a website costs
It depends on what you need, but you should know before starting, in writing. At Nueva Página the price is fixed and paid once: €349 + VAT where applicable for a one-page website, €499 for up to five pages and €599 with online booking. In addition, the only recurring cost is the domain, which you register yourself.
If you do not have a domain yet, registrars are accredited by ICANN, so check that yours is. And if you are comparing quotes, the questions in hiring a web developer will help. Finally, work out the price of yours in the cost calculator: three questions. Knowing what you will pay is part of arriving prepared.
On a related note, you may also find how long it takes to build a website useful.
Frequently asked questions
What if I do not know what to write?
Tell me in conversation and I organise it. It often comes out better that way than written from scratch.
Can I start without photos?
The design can start, but it is best to have them before launch. Real photos make a big difference.
What if I am ordering a website to replace an old one?
We keep what works and make sure not to lose what Google already knows. More in redesign without losing Google rankings.
How long does the website take after I order it?
Seven days for a one-page website and fourteen for up to five pages, counting from when I have your copy and photos.
